Relive the emotional events that took place in the run-up to Valencia CF-Real Betis to pay tribute to the victims and those affected by the tragic flash floods
Valencia CF welcomed Real Zaragoza on Wednesday 28th of July at 6:45 pm kick-off time at the Pinatar Arena for their fourth preseason test, the first of their second preseason training camp.
Valencia CF were off to a positive start with Javi Guerra getting on the end of it but it went off target Valencia CF were pressing high up the pitch in the early goings of the game.
Alas, Real Zaragoza CF got themselves in front through Juan José Narváez on the 20-minute mark.
Valencia CF were trying to get a foothold following the Real Zaragoza goal. Gonçalo Guedes tried his luck from distance but his effort sailed over the bar. Minutes later, Jason Remesseiro had another shot on target which flew over the bar.
Fran Gámez doubled Zaragoza’s lead on the stroke of halftime and a minute later, Maxi Gómez came mighty close to reducing the arrears but he hit it with the shoulder.
Valencia CF trailed Real Zaragoza by 0-2 at the Intermission at the Pinatar Arena.
José Bordalás made two halftime substitutions by bringing on Thierry Correia and Omar Alderete replacing Joseda Menarges and Javi Guerra.
Valencia CF came out looking to reduce the deficit alas, the same script followed with Valencia CF trying to make inroads in the second half.
José Bordalás made four changes over the hour mark with José Luis Gayà, Hugo Guillamón, Gonçalo Guedes and Maxi Gómez making way for Sobrino, Vallejo, Burlamaqui and Jesús Vázquez.
Valencia CF grew into the game after the substitutions breaking into the box and penning the opposition inside their own area using the wings and playing long balls.
The remainder of the game played out with no further incidents and Valencia CF’s pre-season winning run came to an end against Real Zaragoza CF at the Pinatar Arena in their second preseason training camp.
Valencia CF will welcome crosstown opposition Levante UD on Friday 30th of July at the Antonio Puchades at 7 pm kick-off time (CET) for a Valencia derby where Valencia CF will try to return to winning ways.
